Ib - Movie Poster Teaser

Ahhh, I never did submit this here, did I? |D Well, now you all get to see what I've been working on all through early to mid June.

In my Intro. to Illustration class, we got to make movie posters/teasers! We could pick any subject we wanted, so long as it was already existing (pre-existing movies, games, books, etc.). I picked the indie horror game, Ib! (Because we all know it needs an anime or a movie!) Specifically, Garry and the Doll's Room.

A lot of work went into this project, but not as much as my book cover project (we had less time to work on it), which you can find here: fav.me/d7kzraa

We, as a class, did the usual 25 thumbnail sketches, 4 refined sketches, a final sketch, value studies, color studies, and then the final itself (with LOTS of editing) for our projects.

However, when I was coloring this in Sai, Sai didn't have enough ram... So, I was forced to compress layers together even though I really needed to go back and edit some of them. It really affected how the piece turned out, unfortunately. And it more than likely affected my grade as well. It even messed up some of the coloring in the layers, which I will eventually go back and fix just so I don't kill myself over it |D

But I still like how the bottom half of the poster came out. ;v;
